FAQs

  • There are three ways to work together depending on where you are in your project. These can be virtual as well as in-person in Dublin, Ireland for the larger scope packages.

THE INTERIORS EDIT is a virtual one-off design session for two to three spaces, ideal for homeowners who want expert direction and a clear look and feel to implement themselves, priced at €495.

This is my only offering that is available to book directly.

THE INTERIORS CONSULT is a comprehensive virtual design deep-dive across up to five spaces, delivering spatial concepts, layouts and 3D visualisations, priced at €985 and designed as the first step in any larger project.

(You can see examples of these projects in my portfolio).

Beyond that, full service interior design is available for complete refurbishments, extensions, new builds and specific room packages including kitchen design, bathroom design and whole floor redesigns.

While based in Dublin, Tanya works with clients across Ireland, Europe and the US, and is fluent in French and Spanish.

All projects bar THE INTERIORS EDIT begin with a consultation stage.

  • THE INTERIORS CONSULT is a comprehensive virtual design session for homeowners who are ready to move forward with their interiors, whether as part of a larger refurbishment or as a standalone starting point.

It results in a full presentation covering spatial concepts, layouts, 3D imagery and initial furnishing directions across up to five spaces.

It is best suited to busy professionals who want clarity and a clear design vision without spending months making decisions themselves.

The fee is €985 and is credited against any future project work should you choose to continue, as it represents the first stage in any project.

Please enquire to see if you are a good fit for this service.

If in-person work is a non-negotiable, this presentation can be delivered in studio or at your home for an additional site call-out fee (within Dublin commuting distance).

  • THE INTERIORS EDIT is a lighter touch virtual design session for homeowners who want expert direction but plan to implement changes themselves.

It covers two to three spaces and delivers a proposed look and feel, layout suggestions and sourcing guidance.

It is ideal for people who are not planning a full renovation but want their home to feel more considered and cohesive.

THE INTERIORS EDIT is €495 and can be booked directly online.

  • The key difference is scope and intent.

THE INTERIORS EDIT is a standalone product for confident DIY homeowners who want a clear direction and will take it from there themselves.

THE INTERIORS CONSULT is a deeper, more comprehensive session designed as a first step in a larger project or for anyone considering full service interior design.

THE CONSULT includes more detailed 3D visualisation, covers more spaces, and feeds directly into any future project proposals. Examples from this work can be seen in my PROJECTS page.

  • THE INTERIOR CONSULT is a significant investment of both your time and mine.

The application process ensures it is the right fit for your project before we both commit.

It takes two minutes and means that when we do work together, the session is focused, productive and genuinely useful for where you are in your project.

  • Yes. If you go on to work with me on a full project after THE INTERIORS CONSULT, the consultation fee is credited against your project proposal.

You are not paying twice — the consult is the first stage of the project, not an additional cost on top of it.

ENQUIRE FOR THE CONSULT & FULL SERVICE DESIGN

  • Yes. Tanya takes on a limited number of full service interior design projects in Dublin and across Leinster.

This typically begins with THE INTERIORS CONSULT as a first step, moving into detailed design, procurement, contractor coordination and project management.

Enquiries for full service projects are handled through the CONNECT page.

  • After the consultation, you will have a clear design concept and direction for your home.

From there you can choose to implement elements yourself, commission specific design packages such as a kitchen design or bathroom design, or move into a full service project.

There is no obligation to continue but most clients find the consultation gives them enough confidence to take the next step.

At the end of your consultation, we will discuss this and I will revert with a customised proposal for the next stage in bringing your project to life.

  • For both services, it is necessary to have floor plans or rough measurements of your spaces, photos of your home as it currently looks, and a sense of what you like — even a rough Pinterest board or saved Instagram posts are useful.

A questionnaire is sent in advance to help structure the session and make the most of our time together.

  • Yes.

Both THE INTERIORS EDIT and THE INTERIORS CONSULT are fully virtual services, which means I work with homeowners across Ireland including Cork, Galway, Limerick, Belfast and everywhere in between.

I have also supported clients in Europe and the USA.

Full service project work is primarily based in Dublin and Leinster but enquiries from elsewhere are welcome.

  • THE INTERIORS CONSULT itself is a 75 minutes presentation once preparation work is complete, which takes 3 weeks minimum behind the scenes once I have received all materials.

Full project timelines depend heavily on the scope of work, contractor availability and procurement lead times.

A typical full refurbishment in Dublin runs between six and eighteen months from first consultation to completion, depending on planning and other complexities.

The consultation stage establishes a realistic timeline and budget to help guide key decisions and appropriate PC sums for your specific project from the outset.

  • The majority of projects are residential — period properties, Georgian and Victorian homes, new builds, extensions, full refurbishments and single room redesigns.

A particular focus is on Dublin period properties where spatial planning and working with existing architectural features requires a considered approach, inspired by my own home and its renovation.

Kitchens, bathrooms, kitchen-living-dining spaces and full house refurbishments are the most common project types.

  • For most homeowners undertaking any significant work, yes.

The cost of making the wrong decisions on a kitchen, bathroom or living space — whether in materials, layout or furnishings — far exceeds the cost of a consultation.

A good consultation saves time, prevents costly mistakes and gives you a clear brief to bring to contractors and suppliers.

It also means you are not starting from scratch every time you need to make a decision during a renovation.

  • Interior design costs in Ireland vary significantly depending on the service.

A one-off consultation or design session typically ranges from €500 to €1,500.

Full service interior design for a complete home refurbishment is typically charged at an hourly or flat rate, or as a percentage of the overall project budget.

Specific design packages such as a kitchen design or bathroom design range from approximately €1,500 to €3,000 depending on complexity.

THE INTERIORS EDIT is €495 and THE INTERIORS CONSULT is €985.

For pricing of your specific project, only general guidance can be provided once enquiring. Custom proposals are delivered after the initial consult stage.

ENQUIRE ABOUT THE INTERIORS CONSULT & FULL SERVICE DESIGN

  • Not necessarily.

THE INTERIORS EDIT at €495 is designed specifically for homeowners who want expert input without a large financial commitment.

It is a practical, focused session that gives you a clear direction you can implement at whatever pace and budget suits you.

Full service design is a larger investment but is typically reserved for clients undertaking significant renovation or new build projects.

  • An interior designer works across spatial planning, layouts, lighting design, specification of materials and finishes, and project management alongside the aesthetic direction of a space.

An interior decorator focuses primarily on the decorative layer — furniture, colour, soft furnishings and accessories.

In Ireland the terms are often used interchangeably but the distinction matters when undertaking structural changes, extensions or new builds where spatial planning expertise is required.

  • Tanya Neufeld Flanagan is a Dublin-based residential interior designer specialising in elevated interiors for busy professionals.

With a background in advertising and brand strategy including senior roles at Meta and leading agencies in New York and Dublin, Tanya brings a professional and project management-oriented approach to interior design that is unusual in the industry.

She is the host of THE INTERIORS PODCAST, one of Ireland's leading interior design podcasts, and has been featured in Image Interiors, House & Home magazine and the Sunday Times.

  • The work is best described as clean, classic and bold — elevated interiors that feel considered and personal rather than trend-driven.

Tanya loves layering antique, vintage and bespoke, and prefers muted colour palettes and minimal pattern, creating contrast with different styles, unexpected lighting, art and contrasts.

A strong emphasis on spatial planning, getting the bones of a room right before introducing colour and furnishings.

Particular experience with period properties in Dublin where working with existing architectural details is central to the design approach.
